Carbon Management Allianz

The Carbon Management Alliance (CMA) was founded in Berlin in November 2024 by companies from the cement, lime, energy, transport and waste sectors. It acts as a cross-industry platform for the roll-out of carbon management technologies in Germany. The Alliance’s aim is to advance the capture, transport, storage and utilisation of CO₂ throughout the entire value chain, thereby making an effective contribution to decarbonisation, particularly in sectors where emissions are difficult or impossible to avoid entirely.
The CMA is committed to actively helping to shape the political, regulatory and infrastructural conditions for carbon management in Germany. To this end, it brings together stakeholders from industry, infrastructure and other relevant sectors, pools practical experience and technical expertise, and sees itself as a point of contact for policymakers, public authorities and the general public. The focus is on practical solutions, investment-friendly framework conditions and the rapid development of an efficient CO₂ infrastructure.
With its cross-sectoral approach, the Carbon Management Alliance aims to help establish carbon management as a central component of a climate-neutral industry in Germany and to ensure alignment with European and international developments.
